The police released video of a man who allegedly robbed a check cashing operation in the 30th Precinct yesterday.
According to the NYPD, the incident took place around 1:45 a.m., when a man entered the Pay-O-Matic at 3352 Broadway. He carried a "cup filled with a flammable liquid" and "threw it under the cashier window and demanded cash while displaying a lighter." The cashier, a 22-year-old man, agreed and gave him the money. The Post says the robber stole nearly $10,000 and said, "Pay up or I'll light this place up!"
The suspect is described as a man in his 40s, 5'9" and 150 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
