The police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man suspected of beating a woman repeatedly and then sexually assaulting her while she was unconscious. The NYPD has released an image and video of the suspect, as well as a description of the incident.

Police say that last Friday, August 17th, the suspect entered Body Work, a massage business at 85 Washington Place, around 10 a.m. and posed as a customer. He then beat a 41-year-old woman on the face and body until she went unconscious, sexually assaulted her, and stole items from the business. The victim was taken to Beth Israel Medical Center in stable condition and, NBC New York reports, "A witness who did not give their name said the woman was rolled out of the building in a wheelchair, her eye bruised and face swollen, and her arm in a sling."

The police describe the suspect as a black or Hispanic male, 20 to 25 years old, approximately 6', medium build, wearing a dark Kangol-style cap, dark T-shirt, camouflage shorts, and a backpack. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or contact the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM.
