As we all know quite well by now, Liam Neeson has a very particular set of skills, skills he has acquired over a very long career. Those skills include making lists, fighting wolves and releasing the Kraken, but they don't include having anything approaching a working knowledge of how American football is played. So when Neeson appeared on ESPN's Sportscenter yesterday to plug Taken 2, he really couldn't say much about the Jets' terrible loss to the 49ers last weekend. He even tried to start the interview over...before realizing he was already live on air: “Are we live? Oh shit.”
The best part: after Neeson admits to not really knowing anything about football, the interviewer asks him a question about controversial backup quarterback/meme generator Tim Tebow...and Neeson has never heard of him. "You're speaking ancient Arabic to me buddy," responded Neeson. Let's get back to doing what you do best, Liam: improv comedy.
