Here's a sort of spectacular video of an above-ground subway train shooting off sparks as it grinds over the snowbound tracks between Parkside Avenue and Prospect Park on the B and Q lines. Can you believe New Yorkers have the nerve to complain about the MTA when they get this stunning light show for free? Eat your heart out, Aerosmith!

According to PLOG, "Shortly thereafter subway service was suspended on the Q and B lines and has remained frozen since. Those of us whose dwellings look out over the trains have been confronted with a rare and (somewhat) disquieting silence." MTA chief Jay Walder can expect a muffin basket any day now from the residents of Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, as a thank you for all this sublime peace and quiet.
