Police are hoping the public can help them locate a man who sexually attacked a woman in an Upper West Side elevator.

According to the NYPD, on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at around 2:30 a.m. a 27-year-old woman entered an Upper West Side building. (The Post says it was on Amsterdam Avenue.) A man followed her inside, where police say she was grabbed, forced into an elevator, and sexually assaulted. The victim fled when the elevator doors opened.

The police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male, 5'9"-6' tall, weighing 150-170 pounds, who was last seen wearing a grey shirt, brown beaded necklace, blue jeans and black sneakers.
