Police released a video of a man suspected of trying to rape a woman in her Harlem apartment building just after midnight yesterday. The NYPD says the victim, 24, was followed into her building by the suspect at 12:20 a.m. He allegedly tried to rape her on the steps, but she was able to fight him off and flee. Police say the victim refused medical attention. You can see surveillance video of the suspect following the victim into the building below.

The attack occurred in the 32nd Precinct, which is north of 127th Street to the Harlem River, approximately bounded by St. Nicholas Avenue/Edgecome Avenue and Fifth Avenue (map). Police describe the suspect as a black male, about 5'9"-5'10", wearing blue jeans, black boots and a black jacket with a fur hood.
