Big mouth Jersey boys Chris Christie and Jon Stewart got down to brass tacks last night in a lengthy interview on The Daily Show. They jumped right in with the important stuff by discussing Christie's recent encounter with Bruce Springsteen during a benefit for Hurricane Sandy victims. The NJ Governor's man hug with the Boss was analyzed in great detail, and you can tell Stewart, arguably a bigger Springsteen fan than Christie, wasn't jealous at all.

They also discussed the devastation wrought on the Garden State from Hurricane Sandy, and Christie stressed that communities destroyed along the shore are, for the most part, not affluent areas—80% of the homes destroyed are the homeowners' sole residence, according to Christie. Then they got into Christie's praise for Obama in the days before the election, which infuriated Republicans:

"The week before the storm, you were out there: ‘President Obama couldn’t lead his way out of a paper bag,' " Stewart said. "And then right after the storm was over, you were like: ‘This man is a leader.’ ”

Christie replied, “What it tells me is that people have different skill sets at different times.” Stewart, incredulously, replied, “So he wasn’t a leader until you needed... leadership?
