In today's breaking "another NY politician embroiled in possible scandal" news, Politico reports that upstate Congressman Eric Massa (D) is retiring after one term: "According to several House aides - on both sides of the aisle - the House ethics committee has been informed of allegations that Massa, who is married with two children, sexually harassed a male staffer."

However, when asked about the claim, Massa told Politico, "When someone makes a decision to leave Congress, everybody says everything. I have health issues. I'll talk about it [later]." Massa had previously been diagnosed with terminal cancer, but was "completely cured" according to his website.

Massa is holding a conference call this afternoon. Massa beat a Republican in 2008 for the seat, but his reelection was thought to be a "challenge." Last November, he was one of three NY Democrats who voted against the House's health care reform bill.
