An anesthesiologist from Ulster County, NY has been accused of choking a woman in his home and forcing her to swallow the morning-after pill when she revealed she was pregnant.

The man, 44-year-old Thomas Pfeiffer of Red Hook in Dutchess County, was arrested on Wednesday night, after police responded to a "no voice" 911 call from a Rosendale, NY home. The victim, whose relationship with Pfeiffer has not been revealed, was taken to a local hospital and has since been released.

According to police, Pfeiffer choked the woman and forced to to take a Plan B "morning-after" pill when the woman revealed she had just tested positive for a pregnancy test. Plan B is not an abortion pill, and according to the drug's website, there is no medical evidence that ingesting it while pregnant will harm a fetus.

Pfeiffer has been charged with strangulation, assault and second-degree abortion.
