It's not weekend brunch destruction, but it's something: The Tappan Zee Bridge will be blown up between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning. UPDATE: Here's a clip of the demolition:

The explosion was rescheduled from its original demolition date on Saturday morning due to winds preventing workers from prepping explosives. Many local restaurants had planned big watch parties, like "Big Bang Brunch" and "Dim-Sum-struction of the Tappan Zee Bridge."

The bridge has been slowly dismantled ever since Governor Andrew Cuomo built a new bridge, the Mario Cuomo Bridge, named after his father. (Some of the parts of the bridge have been used for reefing in waters around New York.) Some locals remain nostalgic for the old name:
