[UPDATE BELOW] A person was struck by an L train at the First Avenue station in Manhattan this morning. At present, the FDNY says they do not have an age or gender on the victim, who was struck around 7:13 a.m.
The MTA says, "Due to a police investigation at the 1 Avenue Station, please expect delays on the L in both directions at this time."
Update 11:31 a.m.: According to an NYPD spokesman, the unidentified victim is "possibly a white male" and was "struck by a Brooklyn-bound train inside the tunnel." The individual was pronounced DOA, and the NYPD tells us no criminality is suspected.
But an MTA spokesman tells us the man was "found on the roadbed" and that it's still "unclear if the person was struck by a train." The investigation is ongoing, and we'll update if/when this gets sorted out.
