[UPDATE BELOW] La Guardia' s Central Terminal was evacuated this morning due to a suspicious package in a shopping area, and the FAA said there was "a ground stop" in place for any planes departing from the airport.

Sources told ABC 7 "an electrical device was found at a phone booth on the upper level departure of Terminal B, known as central terminal... Next to the bag is a substance that looks like marijuana." The source added that "wires appear to be coming from the bag."

NBC New York reports that officials gave the all-clear about 15 minutes later. We'll update with more information as we get it.

Update: According to Port Authority, the "suspicious package" was actually part of a light fixture, apparently fallen from within the airport. The apparatus was found outside of security on the third floor of the central terminal, overlooking the "C" subcourt area.
