[UPDATE BELOW] The all-pervasive universal life force that is Gmail has failed us this morning. As you know if your work email runs through Google, the company that almost everyone relies on to conduct business communications is experiencing widespread disruptions. Some unfortunate individuals are also reporting problems loading their "regular" Gmail—at press time it's unclear if these poor souls even exist.

Apparently this is all because of Google Apps, which is why you may be able to use your personal email to finally apologize to your mother for forgetting her birthday. Google Docs is also being a little bitch. Google Apps says, "We're investigating reports of an issue with Admin control panel / API. We will provide more information shortly." You can follow along for updates here, but at this point all we can really do is pray.

Update 9:55 a.m.: Some privileged Internet users have now been able to access their work email and Google Docs. If you are one of the lucky few, then you have no excuse for reading this and ought to get back to work. (Be sure to click on the banner ads before you go!)
