Alec Baldwin is an apparent victim of the NYPD's never-ending Cycling Crackdown. An NYPD spokeswoman said that Baldwin was riding the wrong way up 5th Avenue at 16th Street when he was stopped by police. After he was asked for ID, Baldwin became "belligerent," and "cursed" at the officers. He was taken into custody at the 13th Precinct and given a summonses for driving the wrong way and disorderly conduct. Baldwin has since been released.

In Touch (sigh) had the scoop.

Despite the NYPD's account, one of In Touch's sources says Baldwin was “calm and quiet” while being arrested, while another said he “went ballistic on the cops, screaming at them.”

A rep for Baldwin has not yet returned our voicemail. Here's a summary of moving violations issued in the 13th Precinct last month and for 2014 [PDF].
