Early Sunday morning, a rogue face-licker slipped into a woman's unlocked, Upper East Side apartment and slimed her face while she was sleeping. Police are now seeking a suspect—bald and bearded, last seen wearing a dark jacket and jeans—spotted on the building's security cameras.

According to the NYPD, the incident occurred around 6:35 a.m. on Sunday, in a residential building near the intersection of East 65th Street and 1st Avenue. The man trespassed into a 28-year-old woman's apartment, and she woke up in her bedroom to find him "licking and kissing her face."

Police say she chased the man out and he fled on foot, headed west along East 65th Street.

If, while reading this, you scoffed to yourself, That's why you always lock your door, know that the woman's lock has been broken for a while, and her landlord has reportedly failed to fix it despite repeated complaints. That's according to the NY Daily News, which sent a reporter to see how easy it was to break into the apartment complex. The reporter "had no problem getting into the building through a front door that didn’t close properly."

The face-licker remains at large, so please consider an extra layer of barricade when you go to bed tonight, and please consider letting law enforcement know if you have any tips as to his whereabouts.
