Two people were fatally struck by subways in separate incidents in Brooklyn and Manhattan within an hour of each other last night. The first incident happened just after midnight when a man was hit by a Manhattan-bound L train at the East 105th Street station in Canarsie; he was declared dead at the scene.

FDNY says that just after 1 a.m., a homeless man was hit by a southbound 2 train at the West 23rd Street station in Chelsea; according to Post sources, the homeless man had laid down on the tracks in front of the train. He was declared dead at the scene. This is the second time this weekend someone was fatally hit in that area—on Saturday, a man was fatally hit by a southbound E train at West 23rd Street and 8th Avenue, in what police said may have been a suicide.
