The two victims, ages 27 and 32, were walking near the corner of Broadway and West 48th Street at 2:30 a.m. when the suspect approached. According to police, he shouted "slurs regarding their sexual orientation" before assaulting them.

The suspect fled the scene and when police responded, both victims refused medical attention. An NYPD spokesman did not have further details on the nature of the assault.
