Two people were killed in separate auto accidents early this morning in Brooklyn. The first accident happened around 5:40 a.m. in South Park Slope on the eastbound Prospect Expressway—the driver lost control of his Mercedes-Benz SUV, hit the concrete median, then flipped onto its side. 17-year-old Shi Ying Wu, of Queens, was sitting in the backseat; she was thrown from the rear onto the roadway, and was killed. No arrests were made and no criminality is suspected.

Then around 6 a.m., a 23-year-old man driving a BMW coupe crashed into the back of a Department of Transportation truck as its driver was getting in. That accident occurred on the east-bound Belt Parkway near Bedford Avenue in Sheepshead Bay. The driver of the BMW was killed, a passenger in his car was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the DOT driver was thrown from the truck, but sustained only minor injuries. There is no criminality suspected, and investigation is ongoing.
