Last night, at least a dozen people were trapped when a floor collapsed in an Arverne home of Queens. Apparently there were 100 people at a St. Patrick's Day house party when the third floor collapsed onto the second floor before 11 p.m. at 451 Beach 72nd Street.

According to the Post, "Eight people were rescued using a bucket ladder and the other four were able to leave on their own." Two people—a 19-year-old woman and 16-year-old girl—were taken to a hospital for injuries.

Apparently the teen partiers were in the vacant third floor space: 16-year-old Chelsea Poyser told the Daily News, "My whole life just flashed before my eyes." A neighbor told the Post, "We couldn’t help but hear the noise, music, loud talking and yelling, then a lot of banging. Then the noise stopped.”

The building has Department of Buildings complaints about illegal renovations from 2005. MSNBC noted, "Earlier tweets had said that an object appeared to have fallen from an aircraft and hit the building."
