Police are searching for a suspect who executed two Chinatown women before setting their apartment on fire yesterday morning. The fire broke out on the first floor of a six-floor building at 83 Henry Street around 10:40 a.m. Friday. It was only after the bodies had been moved onto the sidewalk that police realized they had both been shot in the head.
It took firefighters about 20 minutes to control the blaze; the fire was apparently started in the bedroom and kitchen. The Post says one victim was in her 30s, and the other was so badly burned that authorities couldn’t immediately estimate how old she was; fire sources told DNAInfo both victims were between the ages of 40 and 50. The women's identities haven't been released, and even the building's super wasn't sure who they were: “I never met whoever was renting that apartment,” said Valentin Rodriguez. “I have no idea if one or 10 people live there.”
