Staten Islanders really love their TV. A week after reports surfaced of a Staten Island man who beat his wife (possibly leading to her death) after she didn't pay for his cable in the hospital comes the story of 47-year-old Dominick Salinari who on Friday was arrested after he brutally attacked his girlfriend's father—fracturing his skull and eye sockets—after "some argument over the TV."
It took eight officers to pull the 5"9', 300 lb., Salinari off of the literally beaten-to-a-pulp Arthur Haaland. And Healand, who is now in stable condition, wasn't the only person Salinari hurt that night. When his mother tried to intervene and stop the violence he allegedly hit her in the face and kicked her in the ribs.
Salinari is currently being held on $50,000 bail and has been charged with first-, second- and third-degree assault as well as third-degree attempted assault, resisting arrest, and two counts of second-degree harassment.
We wonder what Friday night television show could have elicited such violence. Spartacus?
