A TSA agent has been arrested for allegedly stealing cash out of a passenger's wallet while conducting a routine security check at JFK Airport's Terminal 1 on Saturday night.

According to the Port Authority, a 26-year-old man from the Bronx was collecting his possessions from a TSA screening bin at JFK around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, when he realized that $61 had been removed from his wallet. He reported the incident to Port Authority police, who obtained surveillance footage of an on-duty, uniformed TSA agent removing cash from the victim's wallet.

The suspect, 37-year-old Joe Bangay of Queens, was arrested and charged with larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

In September, another JFK TSA screener was arrested for allegedly stealing a traveler's $7,000 Diamond Master watch during a screening at Terminal 7, and then smashing it in a moment of panic.
