Remember Claudia Charriez? She made it to the semifinal round on America's Next Top Model in 2006, but was disqualified after she revealed that she had been born a man. She's back in the news now—because she says her firefighter/FDNY calendar model boyfriend assaulted her, because he thought she was flirting with other men at Flashdancers. "He pinned me into a telephone booth and strangled me, then let go and started crying," she told the Post.
Charriez says the fight started when boyfriend Taylor Murphy, who was Mr. March in the 2011 FDNY calendar, thought she was flirting with men at the Times Square Flashdancers two weeks ago: "A couple of guys saw me and wanted me to dance for them. Then the owner came up to me and asked if I wanted to work for him. [Murphy] said he thought I was flirting with those guys." They fought on the sidewalk, he broke her phone, and then strangled her, before starting to cry.
She says she was able to escape, get in a cab and head to her hotel on West 35th Street...except Murphy was waiting for her there, and she says he then began biting, punching, kicking, slapping and choking her. "I told him to leave and that I didn't want to see him again. It set him off, and he slammed me into the bed and strangled me again with so much force," she said.
Murphy has now been charged with assault, criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing for the alleged assault. And Charriez says that he even had the gaul to write her from jail, asking her to write a letter on his behalf saying the incident never happened: "I was covered in bruises. My lip was split and pieces of my hair were falling out," she said.
