The Transport Workers Union's members asked union president Roger Toussaint questions about the contract the executive board agreed on. The new contract includes 3%, 4%, and 3.5% raises over three years, plus the requirement that workers will be pay 1.5% of their salaries towards health care While union officials were happy with it and "expected" it to pass last week, many members are a little more cautious and suspicious; NY1 reports one bus driver as saying,
“This contract has got too many loopholes. We ask the questions and we’re not getting any answers." Well, in other contract news, the NYPD's new rookie class will be paid $25,100, down from the old starting salary in the mid $30K range, thanks to binding arbitration.

Here is the letter that Toussaint sent to TWU members.
