Police are searching for a man who pushed a woman off of the Bleecker Street 6 subway platform and onto the tracks on Monday morning, and now the incident is being investigated as a possible hate crime.

The victim has been identified as Daniel Hollister, 28, of the Upper West Side, who identifies as a woman. In the wake of the incident, neighbors described her as a shy person. “That’s disgusting that at this day and age this is still happening,” neighbor Petra Scott told the Post.

Hollister suffered only minor injuries, which were treated at Bellevue Hospital. The investigation is ongoing and, as of this morning, no arrests have been made.

Last fall, a 28-year-old transgender woman was assaulted by four men while walking down the street in Bushwick. She suffered permanent brain damage. Two of her attackers were indicted on hate crime charges in February.
