A transformer fire at 7th Avenue and 34th Street is causing problems on the 1/2/3 line. An FDNY spokesman says the fire was reported shortly before noon at 421 7th Avenue. (The MTA tells us it was a manhole fire.) 25 people were evacuated from two buildings on 7th Avenue (431 7th Avenue and 429 7th Avenue), and another 50 people were evacuated from the subway "due to elevated levels of CO," the FDNY tells us.

One person was taken to Roosevelt Hospital with minor smoke inhalation injuries. Firefighters are still at the scene, and 1/2/3 trains are currently bypassing 34th Street in both directions. We'll update as more information becomes available.
