Hey Upper East Siders, you may be safe from people... but not people driving buses! According to some new numbers the NY Post got their hands on, the neighborhood contains two of the top five locations for bus accidents in the city. There were reportedly 29 accidents on East 57th Street and 3rd Avenue last year (the corner came in #1 for accidents), and 20 at Sutphin Boulevard and Archer Avenue in Jamaica. Other top-charting intersections include: Flatbush Avenue and Avenue U in Brooklyn and 3rd Avenue and East 59th Street.

A local told the paper that "bus drivers make turns too tight around this corner," (at East 57th and 3rd Avenue) "It's dangerous. You see the buses are very close to the people." The paper notes that the driver isn't always to blame, but lack of traffic police, bad traffic signals and signage are also at fault. And maybe evenjaywalking?

All in all, Manhattan had 227 accidents at its 17 worst intersections; the Bronx saw 98; Brooklyn had 130; and Queens saw 164.
