Here's an interesting behind-the-scenes tidbit from the fashion world: TOMS Shoes (you know, the flat slip-ons sold at Whole Foods? That help cover the feet of needy children in poor countries?) founder Blake Mycoskie is a supporter of Focus On The Family, a right-wing evangelical Christian group with a strong stance against homosexuality and gay marriage.
Mycoskie spoke at a Focus-sponsored event in California last month, and while we can't say for sure whether he agrees with every one of the group's guiding principals, it is interesting coming from the designer of a hipster wardrobe staple. There might even be some gays getting married in TOMS this summer! Not that this is really the biggest issue with a pair of TOMS—that would still be their lack of arch support. Does this change the way you feel about the brand?
