Starting in July, Time Warner Cable customers will be treated to 1,000 new Wifi hotspots throughout Manhattan, with as many as 10,000 expected to crop up by the end of the year. Could this be TWC's way of apologizing for its otherwise blatant disregard for its customers in every other capacity? Is TWC the absent father who routinely forgets your birthday, but every few years shows up with court side tickets to the Knicks game? And if so, will we be duped by such an obvious red herring?
Non-TWC subscribers can also use the service for $2.95 per hour. Between this and AT&T's new solar-powered charging stations, you can turn any scenic outdoor space into your personal office. With any luck, you'll never have to look at another squirrel or sit through another boring sunset again—unless it's on Instagram.
