Yesterday, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton and other officials announced that three people were arrested for a fatal robbery in Manhattan last month. Bharara said, "A shopkeeper at a small store on the Upper West Side of Manhattan tragically lost his life last month when he was shot and killed during a robbery of his store."

Bubacarr Camera, 26, was found dead inside BNC General Merchandise t-shirt store on Amsterdam Avenue near 105th Street on the afternoon of June 18th. He was shot in the back of the head. Authorities claim that Zubearu Bettis, Stephen Adams and Michael Adams robbed another shopkeeper at 2251 7th Avenue on June 16th (they allegedly discharged a firearm and "physically accosted" a worker) two days before they killed Camera in the robbery gone wrong.

Camera, an immigrant from Gambia, worked at the store, which is owned by his father. Relatives said he sent money back home to Gambia for his mother and baby son.

Sana Boureima, who was attacked in the June 16 incident, told the Daily News, "It's horrible... There’s people who just want to do their job and then there’s people who want to rob them ... kill them."

In addition to the NYPD and 24th Precinct, the ATF and U.S. Marshals Service were involved in the arrests.
