We mentioned earlier today that a small fire appeared to have broken out on the roof of the Plaza hotel. Now we've got the photo to prove we weren't making it up. For what it worth, the fire—which was not in the hotel itself and may have been a construction fire—was put out in about an hour. One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Meanwhile, bystanders seemed more than happy to fiddle while the Plaza burned: "We love the sounds of the fire engines, brings back memories" one couple who used to live in the city and are staying at the hotel told DNAinfo.
