In nearly the same breath that it announced service improvements will be coming to L train, the MTA also muttered into its sleeve that it won't be running between Myrtle-Wyckoff Ave station in Brooklyn and 8th Ave in Manhattan this coming weekend. But sshhhh...more rush hour trains, remember?

The alternatives, as usual, aren't stellar: Shuttle buses will operate between Lorimer Street and Myrtle-Wyckoff avenues, stopping at Graham Avenue, Grand Street, Montrose Avenue, Morgan Avenue, Jefferson Street and DeKalb Avenue. There will also be a loop circulating commuters between Lorimer Street, Bedford Avenue, the Marcy Avenue J and M stations, the Hewes Street J and M stations and the Broadway G. In Manhattan, you can take the M14 bus along 14th Street.

The MTA says service is being interrupted due to track tie renewal at 14th Street-Union Square, Bedford Avenue, Lorimer Street, Graham Avenue and Grand Street. Didn't we just do this? Yes. Boy, those ties must wear out fast! They should really stop making them out of tin foil.
