On Saturday afternoon, a 66-year-old woman was sitting at her home computer when a drone crashed through her 27th floor Kips Bay apartment window. She told the NY Post, "It was a total shock. You never expect something like this to happen so high up. Almost the entire window was broken. Glass covered practically the entire apartment."

The GoPro Karma drone made its startling appearance around 3:15 p.m. at the Waterside Plaza apartment. A neighbor who lives right above the victim said that it "sounded like an object flying against something."

The gadget landed four feet from the woman, who said, "The drone got caught on the blinds. That’s what saved me from getting lacerated. I’m very lucky."

She also told the Post that she wanted lawmakers to make drone flying laws stricter (drones are currently banned from most of the city, except designated parks).

Police are still investigating the incident.
