So the B62 has been up and running for a few days now (after splitting from the B61), but has it changed the lives of riders on that route?

One regular reports back from the Northern side with tales of even longer waits and longing for the ways things used to be. She says: "I was at the bus stop at 6:52am. It was still very dark. I stood there, and waited. And waited. The sun had even come up! Finally, at 7:12, twenty minutes after I got there, the bus shows up."

Apparently the new bus schedule (at least for morningtime weekday commuters) includes a 23 minute wait between buses (the new schedule posted confirmed this); in comparison, the previous wait was every 10 minutes during that same hour. So why slash the number of buses per hour when trying to improve service?

We contacted NY Transit for clarification, and will update when we hear back. In the meantime, if you've had a chance to ride the new split route, let us know what your experience has been.
