The 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, D, E, Q & R Trains Are Mixing Things Up This Weekend

Last week, I decided to start binge-watching Friends, a show I spent years scoffing at, but in a terrible turn of events, now deeply love. So, this weekend I will embrace my basic-ness, metaphorically take a seat in Central Perk, and avoid the trains—the rest of you, sadly, will have to contend with a couple changes. Here's what's on tap:

1 trains will not run in either direction between 14 St and South Ferry, starting at 11:30 p.m. Friday and ending at 5 p.m. Downtown trains will run express from 145 St to 96 St, with that change in effect from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday/

All 2 trains will run local from Chambers St to 34 St-Penn Station from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. From 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday, trains will operate in two sections, between Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College and E 180 St; then via the 5 to/from Eastchester-Dyre Av, and between E 180 St and Wakefield-241 St. Also during that time period, E 180 St-bound 2 trains will run express from Wakefield-241 St to E 180 St.

Uptown and downtown 3 trains will make local stops between Chambers St and 34 St-Penn Station from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

4 trains will not run in either direction between New Lots Av/Utica Av and Bowling Green, starting at 11:45 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday.

5 shuttle service will be replaced by the 2 train, with that change in effect friest from 3:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, and again from 9:45 p.m. Saturday to 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

All A trains will run along the F line from W 4 St-Wash Sq to Jay St-MetroTech, starting at 11:45 p.m. Friday and ending at 5 a.m. Sunday. Trains will run local in both directions from W 4 St-Wash Sq to 59 St-Columbus Circle from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. Also during this period, downtown A trains will make local stops from 125 St to 59 St-Columbus Circle.

All C trains will run along the F line from W 4 St-Wash Sq to Jay St-MetroTech, starting at 6:30 a.m. and ending at 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Downtown D trains will make local stops from 125 St to 59 St-Columbus Circle from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

E trains will reroute along the F line in both directions between 21 St-Queensbridge and W 4 St-Wash Sq, starting at 11:45 p.m. Friday and ending at 5 a.m. Monday. Jamaica Center-bound trains will run express from Roosevelt Av to 71 Av, with that change in effect from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Sunday.

Manhattan-bound Q trains will run express from Kings Hwy to Prospect Park, starting at 11 p.m. Friday and ending at 5 a.m. Monday.

R trains will operate to/from the Jamaica-179 St F station from 6:30 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday. 179 St-bound trains will run express from Roosevelt Av to Forest Hills-71 Av during that period.
