A 78-year-old woman is in the hospital after being viciously beaten by two young women yesterday afternoon, according to police. Investigators are now hoping the public can help them find the suspects.
According to the NYPD, the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on June 2nd, when two girls approached the woman on the southbound platform inside the Franklin Avenue C station in Bed-Stuy. Police say the girls attacked the woman, beating her on the face, head, and body before fleeing the station on a southbound train.
EMS took the victim to a hospital in stable condition. WABC 7 reports, "The initial dispute was... over who was sitting and who was standing on the subway."
Police released images of the suspects (below), describing one as a 17-year-old female, 5'7" and wearing a light blue dress shirt, dark under t-shirt, white jeans and white sneakers and the other as a 17-year-old female, about 5'6" and wearing a white t-shirt, black sweatpants, and black sneakers.
