Not letting the MTA bastards drag him down,16-year-old Ali Fadil took matters into his own hands when the authority cut the QM22 bus from Jackson Heights. He turned to Joel Azumah, owner of private bus company TransportAzumah, and asked him to run on the former line. Azumah's company also took over for the X25, X29, and X90 buses, and he told the Village Voice, "Some of these routes are in very good locations with very loyal ridership." Though it's risky and hasn't been that lucrative, QM22 riders are grateful for the service. One told the Daily News, "Stopping a bus like this would have been like breaking up family."
