A yellow cab erupted in flames just after 4 p.m. today on the upper level of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge.
According to an FDNY spokesperson, the fire was first reported at 4:13 p.m. It was extinguished at 4:36 p.m., but firefighters are still on the scene.
The upper level of the bridge remains closed in both directions. So far, no injuries have been reported.

Photos depict a cab ravaged by flames, its bright yellow trunk the only portion of the vehicle that appears, at least outwardly, to have been spared. Sommyr Pochan, who saw the incident from her job at 66th Street and 2nd Avenue, said it appeared as though the driver escaped unscathed. "I think the driver was out—I saw a guy in civilian clothes talking with the firefighters and looking really bummed," she said.
