The Nets have had a busy week, playing their final game in New Jersey, unveiling the almost-complete Barclays Center, and teasing their new logo. Yesterday, our sources confirmed that was indeed the team's new logo—and today, there are leaked pics of some new Nets gear. Hmm, we see a whole lot of "Brooklyn" and not very much "Nets" there...

At the Barclays press conference yesterday, Atlantic Yards developer Bruce Ratner spelled out the branding strategy for the new team: "The primary brand is Brooklyn, Brooklyn, Brooklyn." Though they aren't getting rid of the "Nets" part, it does seem as though it's being de-emphasized for now: "There was a lot of debate and surveys were taken and the results came out that there is a legacy to the Nets. It is not like we were moving to the West Coast or something. A lot of work was done, a lot of research." Perhaps the team should really consider Wall Street Journal reporter Jason Gay's advice.
