An NYPD officer fired a shot at a fleeing driver while responding to a disturbance reported on FDR Drive and 23rd Street early Sunday morning, police said.

The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m., after the driver of an SUV allegedly clipped the officer while attempting to flee the scene. The officer discharged one round but no one was struck, police said. The officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to Bellevue Hospital.

The Daily News reports that the two individuals in the SUV were fleeing a "raucous brawl" that broke out after an East River tour boat returned to the Skyport Marina. Sources told the News that it was unclear whether the driver and passenger were involved in the brawl.

The two individuals have been taken into custody and charges are pending.
