Police are looking for a man who allegedly slashed someone across the back of the head in Midtown—and the altercation was reportedly sparked by an argument about tourists.

Cops say that the incident happened around 4:45 p.m. this past Thursday near East 55th Street and Madison Avenue. The News reports that the suspect yelled out, "Tourists are a pain in the ass," and the victim apparently thought he was being addressed: "Unsure who the unhinged man was referring to, the victim responded in classic New York style: To whom are you speaking, the Brooklynite inquired— though perhaps not in those words, according to the sources."

After that, the suspect followed the 30-year-old victim then took out a knife and slashed him in the back of the head. The victim, who resides in Brooklyn, was taken to Roosevelt Hospital in stable condition.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
