A man accused of trying to rape a woman in Manhattan is now behind bars after turning himself in to police.

Anthony Ramon, 19, was charged with attempted rape as well as burglary, sex abuse, public lewdness and stalking for the August 28th incident in Washington Heights. According to the police, he followed a 33-year-old woman into her apartment building on West 172nd Street. He allegedly continued to follow her onto an elevator, onto her floor and then tried to rape her as she opened her door.

The victim managed to fight him off and locked the door behind her. Police released video of the suspect:

Ramon apparently saw himself on TV and then surrendered to police.
