Police have identified a suspect in the slaying of 26-year-old Bronx nightclub bouncer Terrance Drayton. Suspect Victor Mendez, 21, is wanted by the NYPD in connection with the shooting, which may have been a case of mistaken identity as Drayton was not involved with forcibly tossing four patrons out of Pit Lounge earlier in the evening. According to witnesses, that incident spurred the shooting hours later around 6 a.m.

The Post reports that the club is owned by a former NYPD detective, and neighbors have described it as a blight on the Clason Point neighborhood. Drayton was a father of two, and died after being hit by a bullet that came in through the front window of the club. Anyone with knowledge of Mendez's whereabouts is encouraged to call Crimestoppers.
