With a low around 70 this morning and a high in the mid 80s this afternoon today is almost exactly average for mid-July. Skies should be clear this evening for all you Manhattanhenge cultists. Clear skies are also expected for tomorrow's repeat performance.

Thursday should be a smidgen warmer than today as the high pressure system that has brought us cooler, drier air the past few days begins to move offshore. Tomorrow's high will be in the upper 80s in the city and a couple of degrees cooler in surrounding locations. We might see a return to 90 degrees on Friday.

Humidity returns sometime this weekend as a weak warm front passes through the region. Once the front passes we'll be under the influence of the warm, moist Bermuda High. Look for highs in the mid to upper 80s on Saturday and Sunday with at least some chance of showers or thunderstorms once the muggy air gets here. Highs in the 90s are expected to return early next week.
