A Sunset Park day care facility is under investigation after a 2-year-old was left unattended in a playground for more than an hour.
Quality of Life Academy day care has been shut down while authorities work to determine precisely how Ethan Huachi was abandoned at the playground yesterday, only to be found sleeping on a park bench by a stranger around 1 p.m.
"He was being taken to the park with three teachers and those three teachers didn't notice that he wasn't there until later. They said that they just miscounted the students," his mother, Diana, told ABC New York.
The woman called the police, and the 72nd Precinct tweeted a photo of the child at 3:45 p.m., hoping someone would recognize him.

Huachi was not even notified that her son was missing until 4:30 p.m.—he'd been missing since 12 p.m.
An aide from the day care was questioned by police, but no charges have been filed.
