Let's test your memories, does anyone remember what the weather was like two years ago today? Hint: It was nothing like what's happening today. Today, almost nothing is happening weatherwise. A cold front passed through the city last night, sweeping away all the humidity. Behind that front is a massive high pressure system that is covering the eastern two-thirds of the country in nothing but sunshine. It's going to be a cool, breezy day as that high settles in for a spell. This afternoon's high will only reach the mid 70s.

With the giant high pressure system around there's not much variety in this forecast. Tomorrow should be slightly warmer than today with a high in the upper 70s under sunny skies. Friday and the weekend are expected to be mostly sunny with highs in the low 80s and lows in the lower 60s. Same for Monday. It looks like it will take until Tuesday for us to get the warm return flow of the high. The sun should continue into the latter half of next week with the afternoon temperatures reaching into the mid 80s.

Two years ago today? Record rainfall. Over eight inches of rain was recorded at JFK, Central Park had nearly six inches and almost eleven inches of rain was recorded at Lido Beach in Nassau County.
