ozone071608.jpgSunny skies continue! Today will be much like yesterday albeit slightly more humid. Expect a sunny day with a high in the upper 80s. There is an Air Quality Alert in effect for this afternoon and evening. Ground level ozone is the culprit. During air quality alerts the Office of Emergency Management recommends reducing strenuous outdoor activity to reduce the risk of health problems associated with breathing ozone deep into your lungs. Others that are sensitive to elevated levels of ozone include the very young and people with pre-existing respiratory problems.

Excessive heat and humidity arrive tomorrow. Thursday's high will top out in the low 90s and it will be muggy. A passing warm front will make Friday warmer and more humid. Friday's high is expected to be around 95. Saturday should be a couple degrees cooler but, if anything, the humidty will be worse, making for a very uncomfortable day.

The timing is still uncertain but a weak cold front should break the humidity either late Saturday or during the day on Sunday. The front won't bring cooler air, it is summer after all, so Sunday's high is expected to be around 90 degrees.
