It's been two years since the last incident, but subway surfing is back. A 23 year-old was injured when he fell off the roof of an A train headed to Broad Channel station in the wee hours. According to the Post, a witness says the victim hurtled "through the air...landing in the roadbed along the southbound track." The past subway surfing incidents have been instigated by booze, bets, or both, but they just sound like a death wish. And as riding a subway may or may not already be a death wish, why? Also, is this makes Gothamist wonder if the police check the roofs of subway cars these days. The victim is in critical condition, with skull and pelvic injuries.
