Ever wanted to get your own authentic NYC subway sign without the hassle of having to steal one? AOL has a profile of Trevor MacDermid, who runs Underground Signs, the only licensed retailer of the iconic black vinyl MTA signs. MacDermid isn't really a subway lover though; he prefers to bike around the city: "I don't do these signs because I'm so interested in the trains. I really like the aesthetic of them. I also like the sort of identification that people have with a place or a location." His best-selling sign out of the 468 NY stations is a placard for the 161st Street-Yankee Stadium stop, which he estimates outsells his Shea Stadium signs by a ratio of 20-to-1, which sounds like the correct World Series-victories ratio.
