Another round or two of scattered showers or thunderstorms is possible today but the chance of rain will soon start to fade as the Bermuda High drifts westward. This afternoon will be mostly cloudy with a high in the mid 80s.

Tomorrow's weather is pretty much what you expect for Independence Day. Look for sunny skies to return and the high to reach into the upper 80s. A stray shower or thunderstorm can't be ruled out, but tomorrow evening's best fireworks are likely to be of the man-made variety.

Warmer weather is on the way as the city will be in the grips of the Bermuda High by Friday. That means several days of hazy, hot and humid tropical air over the region. Expect daily highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s through at least next Tuesday. With dew point temperatures hovering around 70 degrees the humidity is going to be unpleasant throughout the weekend, with the National Weather Service likely issuing a Severe Pit Stain Alert. Nighttime lows will only dip to the mid 70s.
